Alex Plante

Alex Plante is a former professional ice hockey defenceman and current on-ice development coach. Selected 15th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Plante began his professional career in 2009. He played in the NHL with the Oilers and spent time in the AHL with the Springfield Falcons and Oklahoma City Barons. His career also included international stints with Dornbirner EC in Austria, Lørenskog IK in Norway, and Anyang Halla in South Korea, where he gained South Korean citizenship and represented the national team in international competitions.

After retiring from professional play in 2020, Plante returned to his hometown of Brandon, Manitoba. He now serves as an on-ice development coach, leveraging his extensive experience to mentor and develop aspiring hockey players.
