Where Academics and Athletics Thrive

Elementary school at the wcha: where academics and athletics thrive

We provide a unique learning environment for students in Grades 5–8, combining top-tier academics with high-performance hockey development. Our elementary school program is designed to nurture young athletes by balancing their academic growth with a passion for hockey, ensuring they develop both on and off the ice.

Following the same school schedule as the Brandon School Division, our students receive a high-quality education that aligns with provincial standards. In our state-of-the-art facility at the J&G Homes Arena, students benefit from small class sizes, personalized instruction, and the opportunity to grow in a focused and supportive environment.

Our comprehensive academic curriculum includes the core subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • English Language Arts
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Health
  • Art

By integrating the fundamentals of education with specialized hockey training, we empower students to develop the skills they need to succeed in both their academic and athletic pursuits. At the WCHA, our goal is to inspire a love of learning, build character, and set the foundation for future success, both on and off the ice.

What parents are saying

★★★★★

“We placed Davian at WCHA in Grade 6, and he graduated in 2024. The small class sizes kept him engaged with advanced assignments, and Mrs. Taggart’s dedication made learning exciting. I never expected him to be doing Grade 8 math in Grade 6! The ice time and dryland training sharpened his skills, speed, and teamwork. At WCHA, you’re not just a student—you’re family.”

Susan Wallace

★★★★★

“Enrolling our son at WCHA for Grade 8 was a big decision—and the right one! Lesley took the time to understand how he learned best, providing hands-on and one-on-one support when needed. The extra ice time was a huge bonus, helping him stay active and focused in the classroom. Lesley, Dittmer, and the instructors gave him confidence both on and off the ice, leaving a lasting impact he’ll never forget.”
