November 10, 2025 – Since opening its doors in 2021, the Western Canada Hockey Academy (WCHA) has continued to evolve to better serve its student-athletes. WCHA offers co-ed private education alongside elite hockey development. In the 2025–2026 school year, the Academy added golf to its athletic programming, giving students the opportunity to train in both hockey and golf.
Building on this growth, Jonathan Filewich will be joining the WCHA teaching roster next year as a high school teacher. His expertise will support the Academy’s expansion of academic and athletic programs to welcome Grade 9 students beginning in the 2026–2027 school year.
The WCHA remains committed to providing student-athletes with enhanced opportunities to develop both academically and athletically. The addition of Grade 9 to the Academy’s offerings represents an important step forward in that mission.
