WCHA Hire Plante as New Director of Goalie Development

The Western Canada Hockey Academy (WCHA) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Tyler Plante as the new Director of Goalie Development. Tyler, a seasoned goaltending expert with an impressive background in hockey, will be joining the WCHA for the upcoming school year.
Tyler Plante brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this role. Over the past eight seasons, he has served as the goaltender coach for the Brandon Wheat Kings, where he played a pivotal role in the development of notable junior goaltenders including Logan Thompson, Jordan Papirny, Connor Ungar, Jiri Patera, and Carson Bjarnason. Additionally, Tyler’s dedication to goaltending extends beyond his time with the Wheat Kings; he was the owner and operator of his own goalie school for 15 years.
Tyler’s impressive playing career includes being a National U18 Champion (Telus Cup), earning WHL Rookie of the Year honors with the Brandon Wheat Kings, being drafted 32nd overall by the Florida Panthers, and enjoying a nine-year professional career.
In his new role at WCHA, Tyler will focus on the development of our enrolled students throughout the school year, designing and overseeing the development program for our goaltender development instructors.
