Staff / Tyler Plante

Tyler’s journey in hockey began when he moved back to Brandon at 12, where he played the rest of his minor hockey, highlighted by winning a National U18 Championship in 2004. This achievement paved the way for him to join his hometown team, the Brandon Wheat Kings, where he was named the 2004/2005 WHL Rookie of the Year and was drafted 32nd overall by the NHL’s Florida Panthers.
After his time with the Wheat Kings, Tyler embarked on a nine-season professional career that took him to leagues in the USA, Sweden, Norway, Italy, Germany, and England. Upon retiring, he returned to the Wheat City.
Tyler, who had been the owner and operator of his own goalie clinic for 15 years, immediately transitioned into a goaltending coaching role with the Brandon Wheat Kings. He is now the longest-serving goalie coach in the franchise’s history, having mentored notable junior goaltenders such as Logan Thompson, Kristen Campbell, Jordan Papirny, Connor Ungar, Jiri Patera, and Carson Bjarnason.
Tyler currently resides in Brandon with his wife, Jordana, and their two children, Jagger and Lucca. They are actively involved in the community and own local businesses such as Fit Performance Centre, Supplement King, and Royal LePage.
